Incumbent Chief [[Josephine]] had initially submitted her candidacy, intending to continue into a second term.

On 13 February, former [[Director of Finance]] [[Hydrogen]] announced his "last-minute candidacy," stating "I want to get Osolia thriving again." His priorities included concluding work on economic reform, debating and passing a new constitution, developing [[Beryzam]], and working to reverse inactivity.

Upon Hydrogen submitting his candidacy, Josephine offered to drop out of the race if Hydrogen would agree to appoint her [[Director of Events]].

Hydrogen agreed, and on February 14, Josephine rescinded her candidacy.
