The act simply ensures that satirical news is protected in Osolia, as the Free Media Act accidentally banned any news organization from creating satirical articles.

== Background ==
The Free Media Act, passed just two days prior to the Fun and Satire Act's writing, accidentally banned satire from existing in news organizations' official articles. Hydrogen, the writer of the original Free Media Act, wrote a quick amendment to fix this issue, titled the Fun and Satire Act. It was presented to the Assembly on June 21, 2024, and quickly passed 10-0 on June 22, 2024.

In the Free Media Act, Article 3 Section 3 requires all news content to remain truthful and accurate, facing penalties if not upheld. The Fun and Satire Act simply adds a Clause 2 to this section, which states that an exception to the above clause is made for news organizations publishing satirical content, provided that it is clearly labeled as satirical and is not egregiously attempting to commit defamation, libel, slander, character assassination, or oppression of an Osolian citizen or resident.{{Navbox Osolia}}
