The national flag of the Chiefdom of Osolia, often referred to unofficially as the Osolian flag, consists of a ten-pointed yellow star with a smaller white and yellow circle inside, on a light-blue saltire on a dark-blue background. The ten-pointed yellow star represents the rising sun, a national symbol of the Chiefdom.
The flag was established after a proposal with two other, albeit similar, Minecraft banners during the Melonian Transitional State. The image version of the flag was designed by cstro.
History
On December 12, 2023, the Melonian Transitional State was formed as a successor to the Republic of Melonia. While discussing other details, such as the name and the government, Scion and cstro started to discuss potential flag designs. It was decided very early on that the flag would have light blue and white involved.
Some early proposals included using a striped design of half light blue, half dark blue with a sun, and even a version with a gradient representing a sunrise, both of which were establishing the rising sun symbolism Osolia would use.
Hydrogen would then propose what would become the final design; a dark blue background with a lighter blue cross on top, with a yellow sun placed on top in the center with a white circle in the center of that to add depth. After this, though, more designs were proposed, including an orange sun instead of a yellow one, yellow stripes instead of light blue, and more minor changes.
After further discussion, Michael Webb, leader of the Melonian Transitional State, started Measure D to decide the flag design amongst the citizens of the transitional state. Three choices were used in the vote, and the final tally is listed below.

This flag has been used for the Chiefdom of Osolia since its inception, with no current plans to change the flag.
Symbolism
In terms of colors, the dark and lighter blues in the flag represent different stages of the day, with the dark blue representing the nighttime sky, and the light blue representing the daytime sky.
The sun on the flag represents a longtime symbol of the Chiefdom, the rising sun. The rising sun represents the new beginnings of Osolia, getting away from the "dark of night" that previous times in the community's history represented, just as darkness gives way to the light of the sun.
Usage
The flag, in banner form in-game, is flown on almost every publicly owned building in the Chiefdom, in addition to flying near the front door of many citizens' personal homes and being flown during special events in various places.
