The VGM Jam is an interactive radio program focused on video game music that has been hosted on Osolia Public Radio since January 14, 2025. The show was created and is hosted by TriforceComet with tz_scion serving as producer.

History

Creation of The VGM Jam

According to its creator, TriforceComet, he came up with the idea while listening to The DJ Hour. He quickly realized that he was the only person that regularly submitted video game music to the show, and wanted to explore that theme further in his own show. It was conceptualized in early January 2025.

He formally announced the show on January 13, 2025, stating that the show is "a show exclusively dedicated to video game music. Whether its based on genre, series, or console it was released on, only games that fit the theme of the episode will be eligible." The first episode was aired the next day on January 14, 2025.

Each episode of The VGM Jam consists of host TriforceComet discussing and showcasing various genres of video game music. Each episode has its own theme, with the first episode's theme being action RPGs, and the second being games on the Nintendo Wii system. The show consists of roughly half listener-submitted songs and half songs pre-picked by the host.

Trivia

• The VGM Jam is the first radio show hosted by former Chief TriforceComet. He was previously planning to host a news show called Dorro News alongside the launch of OPR, but this never came to fruition.
