Episode 1 of The DJ Hour (titled "The DJ Hour w/ Chief Michael Webb" on release) is the premiere episode of the interactive radio program The DJ Hour. It aired on Osolia Public Radio on January 8th, 2024.
It was the first episode of any radio program on Osolia Public Radio.
Episode content
The episode starts with the host, Michael Webb, greeting the audience and explaining the premise of the program, before playing the national anthem of Osolia. On the conclusion of the national anthem, Webb thanks the composer and performer of the national anthem, and explains how the audience can request music. He then begins introducing his pick for the first song, Lonely Day by System of a Down. The start of this episode established a precedent that continues in The DJ Hour where the show will start with the national anthem, and then Webb will play a song of his choice, before he begins taking requests from the live audience.
At 31 minutes into the runtime, Webb introduces a special song created by tz_scion, an Osol language cover of Buddy Holly by Weezer. Including a specially prepared song at the halfway point of the show was established by Webb and Scion before this episode's airing as an expected feature of every episode of The DJ Hour. Although the timeslot was created for any music made by an Osolian, it has only been taken up by tz_scion's music as of now.
On the conclusion of the show, Webb introduces a final song of his own choosing, Back on Track by DJVI. This established a similar precedent where the final song of each episode will be Webb's choice.
