Episode 1 of The DJ Hour Season 2 is the eleventh episode of the interactive radio program The DJ Hour. It aired live on Osolia Public Radio on July 28, 2024. This was the first episode to debut in Season 2, where multiple changes were made to The DJ Hour, mainly the submission rules.

Episode content

The episode starts with the host, Michael Webb, greeting the audience and explaining the premise of the show, with the addition of welcoming viewers to Season 2 before playing the Osolian National Anthem. After the anthem, Webb explains the new changes made to The DJ Hour for Season 2:

  • Songs up to twelve (12) minutes long are now allowed. However, if you request a considerably long song, you may not be able to request anything else.
  • Only requests from people who are still present in the Osolia Public Radio VC channel will be played. Songs requested by people who end up leaving must be claimed by someone else who is still in the VC (and count against their remaining time/song limit) or the song will be skipped.

After this explanation, Webb plays the first song of the night, which as always, is his own choice - Disease by Matchbox Twenty, due to the popular reception of the last song Webb played in the previous episode, If You're Gone by the same band.

The halftime song on this episode was the Rising Sun Media Company (RSMC)'s official theme song for a still to-be-made video news series, composed and performed by tz_scion. Webb admits during the episode that "we had to scramble" to find something for this episode's halftime show.

To end off the show, Webb played Star/The Celestial Jellyfish's request, Gang-Plank Galleon from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate instead of using it as the "penultimate song" due to the runtime already exceeding 60 minutes, and due to the excitement of the song being suggested in the VC chat.
