The Governor of Beryzam is a governor in the Chiefdom of Osolia, responsible for managing the city of Beryzam. The Governor is appointed by and responsible to the Chief, and serves in the Chief's Council. They are confirmed by the Osolian Assembly with a majority vote.
The responsibilities of the Governor, which are shared with the Chief of Osolia and the Director of Infrastructure, include upkeep of streets and roads within city limits, updating street signs regularly to reflect changes in numbering and street names, construction of new streets and roads to allow for the expansion of the city, organizing building projects, among others.
The office was first created upon the appointment of Director of Infrastructure CalvinX as Governor. Previously, the city had been managed by the Chief's Council, per the Osolian Constitution, but only for a short period of time, as Chief tz_scion moved quickly to appoint a governor.
History
Beginnings (November 4, 2024 - present)
Almost immediately after the creation of Beryzam, Chief tz_scion appointed Director of Infrastructure CalvinX to the position, as he helped create the city alongside Chief Scion. Specifically, Chief Scion said: "Founding a city has been Calvin's desire ever since his chiefship, and he has already put a lot of thought and consideration into the planning of Beryzam."
He was confirmed unanimously by those who voted in the Osolian Assembly on November 4, 2024.
