The Osolian Post Office is an independent agency of the Osolian state which is responsible for handling packages and deliveries.

The agency is led by Postmaster Michael Webb, who was appointed to the position by Chief CalvinX on September 11, 2024 after it was discovered that the previous Postmaster, cstro, had left the Osolian server.

History

The idea of a post office was circulated during Osolia's first Assembly term with the draft of the Post Office Act, but was shelved for multiple terms as other projects were prioritized instead.

The post office proposal was reintroduced when TheRandomMelon served as the Acting Speaker from June 27, 2024 to June 28, 2024. The Post Office Act would be put to an Assembly vote shortly after a revision was made to the legislation. The Act was passed unanimously by the Assembly on June 28, 2024.

The Act allows for the Chief, at the time TriforceComet, to pick the Postmaster, who is tasked to lead the the post office. Chief TriforceComet picked cstro to be the agency's first Postmaster due to their enthusiasm for the Post Office, and they began their duties on June 28, 2024.

As Postmaster, cstro would quickly establish a post office building in central Sahosam and would quickly work to create a system for organizing packages. They would then have TheRandomMelon to be the Deputy Postmaster, a position that is second in-command to the Postmaster. Since the Post Office's establishment, numerous packages have been delivered.

Responsibilities

The main responsibility is to handle packages sent by citizens or organizations and their deliveries. The Post Office also handles P.O. Boxes, which is given to every citizen who doesn't have a residency and to any citizen and organization who has a physical address but wants one. The Post Office plans on building post office buildings as cities are started or expanded.
