The Director of Infrastructure is a cabinet position in the Chief's Council in the Chiefdom of Osolia, created as a successor to the Director of City Planning position, with the similar goal in mind of creating and managing streets, roads, buildings, and other infrastructure across the Chiefdom.

Creation and history

Initial appointment

The Department of Infrastructure was established on June 29, 2024 after Speaker tz_scion wrote a formal proposal to the Osolian Assembly and Chief TriforceComet to rename the Department of City Planning to the Department of Infrastructure to better describe its current role in Osolia and to allow the future appointment of a Governor of Sahosam to focus exclusively on managing the city of Sahosam. This then triggered a vote of the Assembly, who voted unanimously to, in the legal sense:

Dissolve the Department of City Planning.
Create the Department of Infrastructure.
Confirm CalvinX as the department's first Director.

CalvinX was appointed by Chief TriforceComet and confirmed by the Assembly as the first Director of Infrastructure due to being the Director of City Planning at that time.

During the TriforceComet administration

Immediately after the creation of the Department of Infrastructure, Director Calvin continued his work on the nether highway system, with help from various other citizens such as Pud and Hydrogen. The nether highway's initial version was completed soon thereafter, connecting most far-out bases of Osolia to each other and to Sahosam.

It has been expanded to add other destinations, such as a portal to TheCelestialJellyfish/Michael Webb's home.
